If you’re in the market for a used car at the moment you’d better make sure you do your research as it’s emerged that a number of unlucky motorists have accidentally bought ex rentals, even from official dealerships of leading manufacturers. Some customers found themselves confused by an unfamiliar-looking name on the car’s documents while others were told that the vehicle they were buying was “ex-fleet” or belonged to the manufacturer. The Office of Fair Trading is currently investigating the used car market as obviously you would expect to pay thousands of pounds less for an ex rental than a normal used car. Don’t get caught out.
